Future Hawks : Learn to Play
The Future Hawks Learn to Play and Continue Play programs are for players newer to the sport looking to work on the basic skills of playing hockey in a fun environment.
We are also partners with the St. Louis Blues and host Little Blues sessions.
Upcoming Programs
Ages
It is for children at least 5 yrs old who have completed a Learn to Skate class or who can skate from one end of the rink to the other unassisted.
When
We run multiple sessions a year.

Where
All of the classes are held at the McKendree Metro Rec Plex.
Practices
Each session will consist of 50 minute classes once a week.
Jerseys
A jersey is provided to first time players.
Equipment
Full equipment is required.
We do loan out equipment on a first come, first serve basis. If you need rental equipment, please contact Gus at Coaching@IceHawksHockey.org

Future Ice Hawk & Lady Hawk Learn to Play and Continue to play
Future Ice Hawks & Lady Hawks – Learn to Play Program/Continue to Play Program
The Learn to Play program is designed for players ages 4 and up who can move around the ice unassisted. A previous skating class is recommended to help ensure players are comfortable on the ice before learning hockey fundamentals.
If your player has already completed a Learn to Play program or has previous hockey experience, the Continue to Play program is for them.
Both program focuses on basic hockey skills, including skating, puck handling, passing, and shooting, in a fun and encouraging environment.
When: Monday nights, May 12 – June 23, 2025, at 6:00 PM (No class on May 26)
Where: McKendree Metro Rec Plex
Equipment: Full hockey equipment is required. If you need to borrow equipment, please contact Gus at HockeyOps@IceHawksHockey.org
A jersey is provided for all first time participants.
